Ok so normally I review health, nutrition and fitness type stuff, but today we’re gonna talk skin. I admit that my skin isn’t always super glowing. I don’t know how many people with clear glowing skin 24/7/365 either. We all get outbreaks. You’d think as you get older you wouldn’t right? Well you do, let me tell ya! Especially for women as our hormones are still doing crazy shit to us. So I got the chance to try some Skleer Skin Conditioning Gel for free, in exchange for a review, and I thought “why not” my skin was going through what I call a “rough patch”, because it certainly was emotionally. It’s hard when you are the focus of the class as the instructor and you’re having a break out! Confidence drops considerably, so I figured I’d try this gel because things couldn’t get any worse right?
I’ve had problem skin in the past, and as I’ve gotten older my skin has gone from oily to super dry. Plus having hormones all crazy after coming off the pill didn’t help, and my age, the dry weather, etc. I’d seen changes in my skin tone too, ruddier cheeks, and uneven coloring, plus a little sun damage. So when I tried Skleer the first thing I noticed was it smells lovely. Skleer has 5 essential oils in it: eucalyptus, tea tree, cardamom, caraway and cinnamon. The product is a gel, but it isn’t sticky or gooey. 30 seconds after you apply it to your skin it totally dries, and your skin feels SUPER soft and smooth! I used mine twice a day, once under my morning moisturizer (and make-up) and in the evening under my night cream and I did see a difference!
Firstly the texture of my skin was smoother, and the redness seemed to even out a little. Usually I have to use a little extra concealer at the top of my cheek where it’s super red but that seemed to have evened out a little. Honestly nobody was more surprised than me on that one. Also less break outs. The week before my period is generally when I breakout and it’s been less noticeable for sure. Previously I’d use my Dessert Essence blemish stick on those, which works wonderfully BUT dries the surrounding skin out. So I tried a little extra dabs of Skleer throughout the day on the few blemishes I had and they cleared up quicker! I’m interested to see how it works on bug bites this Summer and on any eczema flares I get.
Thanks to the folks at Skleer I get to giveaway some Skleer to one lucky blog reader!
