About me and why I blog?
Welcome to my little fitness studio on the web. I’m Di Hickman and I post my workouts online so you can workout with me. Why do I do this? Because although I’m a personal trainer, fitness instructor and yoga teacher I can only help so many people in person. Why not try to reach as many people as I can via this wonderful online format we call blogging. Along with workouts and fitness education, I also post nutrition information, motivation, lifestyle tips and much more. What qualifications do I have?
I’ve been working in the fitness industry since 1996. Those able to do math will realize that’s over 20 years! Whoa where did that time go? I don’t get asked a lot about my qualifications but just in case you’re curious I’m an NASM personal trainer, AFAA certified group fitness instructor, NESTA Lifestyle and Weight Management specialist and I’m also a 200 hour yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance. In the last 20 years I’ve also been certified in numerous other fitness programs including Les Mills, PiYo, P90X, Spinning, and TRX. Yes, I love learning about fitness! I’m fascinated by the human body, it’s amazing!
How Can I help you?
Whether you’re here to lose weight, get fit, eat better, ease into a plant based diet or want to simply lead a healthier lifestyle I can help! Over the last 20 years I’ve coached people 1-on-1, in group environments and online to reach their goals. Whether that goal was to lose weight, change their body composition, gain weight (yes some people do have that as a goal) or train for a particular event. I’ve worked with people of all age ranges, both sexes, and with varied health conditions. 20 years of education and experience means I have a big bag of tricks to pull from and I continuously strive to educate myself further with the latest health and fitness information and the trends.
